Abilities Talent International is a non profit corporate USA based organization started in 2009, and established in January/ 21st/ 2010 with a basic objective of recognizing and promoting talent and skills' amongst people with disability.
Vision and Objectives
Promote talents and assist with the development of skills among disabled people to enable them to become full and contributing members of there communities.
Mission
Our ultimate goal is to organize an annual international talent festival where disabled people and their organizations equally participate, to develop and build their own talents and skills movement at the local, national and international level, to campaign for and influence social change and to understand their inalienable right to dignity.
Current activities include:
• We have recently sent one of our representatives to Cameroon and the surrounding area to access the needs and requirements of the local disabled community with the aim of providing them with the resources that they say they need to develop their skills and become economically independent. In addition to this we have also recently held an event in Atlanta GA showcasing a number of our members and their talents.
• Organizing a launch conference in Los Angeles (November 2010) to bring together groups and individuals with a direct interest in promoting the talents and skills of disabled people across the globe with a view to forming a coherent and integrated strategy aimed at achieving our stated goals.
• We are currently embarked upon finding suitable storage premises in Los Angeles with a view to having a central depot where equipment and resources can be deposited prior to being shipped on to our partner groups in need.
